PHILIPS 860 FM SW MW LW RADIO. Powers up and plays. The aerial is missing but FM signal plays. I struggle for any other signals here in the Outer Hebrides. It would appear that the ‘fine tune’ knob is inoperative, maybe a simple fix for someone with the right expertise? A nice retro radio that has been sat unused and dirty for some time before coming into my ownership recently. Will require further cleaning and attention to aerial etc.Power lead not included but easily sourced assuming you don’t already have one? Take a close look at all of the pictures and zoom in if necessary prior to bidding. Will be well packed and posted promptly but please allow an extra day or two for delivery as this is coming to you from the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles of Scotland. IN SUMMARY: totally 100% period original, working, serviced, detailed, FM & cassette.additional input for mp3, or external 3.5mm standard jack connection.ability to send audio via bluetooth if requiredadvice + any parts needed when installing (there may be a cost for parts) this radio cassette was quite unique in having a genuine original external input din, this means that you have FM radio - fully working cassette - true stereo mp3 input via am mp3 input cable which can be also connected to bluetooth. Philips 860 stereo radio and cassette, with hard wired mp3/aux input cable. this comes as pictured with none of the standard connections/fittings, but these are available on the market. As a collector – enthusiast I spend too much money and too much time getting things that I ‘need’ in my collection and making them museum quality when I get them in order to feature on Radiomuseum which I am a member of.If you buy a radio from me then it might well have had 4 or 5 hours (or more) spent on restoring it, or it might have been perfect when I found it, however you can trust that it will be of great quality otherwise I would not have kept it in my collection. I really enjoy the fact that I am returning my radios back to regular life in suitable period vehicles, so I really don’t mind answering any questions and helping where I can, although I am not a car expert but I do know about radios. I do work full time and this is just my hobby so my answers my often be delayed a while.Basics explained: in the UK we were stuck with Medium Wave & Long Wave through the 70s so people remember brands like radiomobile and lucas, this makes FM (still very useable in present day) more rare than MW sets. Mono was the standard also in this period, making 2 speaker or stereo really very rare, 4 speaker or quad developed in the early 80s. radio cassette players were introduced in the early 70s when Philips invented the concept, like records cassettes are now growing in popularity. I am a purist so I will not physically alter an original radio and I restore with only original parts, This is my hobby with limited time and resources so please bare with me and understand any boxes or packaging I use will be recycled but packaged as I would expect to receive it if it were me. Having had some bad experiences with people taking advantage of me, I do security mark and seal my radios prior to sending.
