I am selling my pristine condition OPPO BDP-103 BluRay player. I also have the Darbee edition so I have no need for both units. This is a used player that powers on as intended, AS OF TODAY 2/24/2024 5:30PM CST. I want to put this in black and white: The last time I used the player (about ~8 months ago) it powered on, but would not eject the tray disc. After waiting 15-20 mins, then unplugging and then plugging power outlet back in the tray disc ejected. It would close so that it appears to read the disc but then wouldnt play, even after pressing play on the remote control or physically on the unit itself. It would just stay on the HELLO display screen of the unit. Since then its a hit or miss and works/plays and then sometimes it doesnt, as I havent used it much. It does power up every time I tried to use it since the beginning when I purchased new from Oppo. Again, AS OF TODAY it works but I dont know if it will eject properly, or if any/all the unit controls will function as intended in the next 5 mins or not (let alone tomorrow). I dont know if the issue is fixable or not and I dont have the time to mess around with it or read up on blogs, forums etc. This is a FINAL SALE AS-IS condition, with NO RETURNS whatsoever since Ive described the functionality. Maybe there is nothing wrong with it and this is normal given the player and its age and it just needs some cleaning at home that anyone can do... i just dont know. *****************************Also, when the home screen comes on the TV the message says to update the firmware and will not let you go past the screen. I dont have the time to mess around with it and trying to select menu option via the network doesnt do anything so it appears you have to do via USB. I dont know how long or entailed the process is but again im not messing with it or trying to do anything to do the update, and selling this as-is. It could be straightforward or it may not be. Included in the sale is the original BDP-103 player, the serial dongle, a power cord, and the original Oppo remote. There is no manual and no box included in this sale as I no longer have them. I have owned this player for 10 years and it has served me well. Once I built an unRAID server to store full quality rips of my UHD/BD/DVD collection, I stopped using this player on any regular basis. It has seen only very light use in the last 2 years. The dongle, which needs to be plugged into the serial port of the player and also plugged into a rear USB port for power, offers completely region free DVD playback and you are able to perform region selection for Bluray playback. To swap Bluray regions: a. Power on the player without any disc inserted. After a while, the screen with show NO DISC.b. About 2 seconds after the NO DISC is displayed, press DIMMER, DIMMER, DIMMER, MUTE and then the region code. 1 for A, 2 for B, 3 for C.c. Power off your player. When started up again, the region code has changed.d. The region code selection must be done within 20 seconds. The player is sold USED and As Is. It was tested working before auction and I verified the dongle also still functions to playback one of my European Blurays. I cannot accept returns of any kind, sorry.
