Oppo BDP-83 Blu Ray PlayerPower button lights red but the unit does not power up.I suspect a power supply issue.As stated in the description, the front of the unit looks clean but the top has some marks on it. No remote.

This is a used player that powers on as intended, AS OF TODAY 2/24/2024 5:30PM CST. I want to put this in black and white: The last time I used the player (about ~8 months ago) it powered on, but would not eject the tray disc. After waiting 15-20 mins, then unplugging and then plugging power outlet back in the tray disc ejected. It would close so that it appears to read the disc but then wouldnt play, even after pressing play on the remote control or physically on the unit itself. It would just stay on the HELLO display screen of the unit. Since then its a hit or miss and works/plays and then sometimes it doesnt, as I havent used it much. It does power up every time I tried to use it since the beginning when I purchased new from Oppo. Again, AS OF TODAY it works but I dont know if it will eject properly, or if any/all the unit controls will function as intended in the next 5 mins or not (let alone tomorrow). I dont know if the issue is fixable or not and I dont have the time to mess around with it or read up on blogs, forums etc. This is a FINAL SALE AS-IS condition, with NO RETURNS whatsoever since Ive described the functionality. Maybe there is nothing wrong with it and this is normal given the player and its age and it just needs some cleaning at home that anyone can do... i just dont know. *****************************Also, when the home screen comes on the TV the message says to update the firmware and will not let you go past the screen. I dont have the time to mess around with it and trying to select menu option via the network doesnt do anything so it appears you have to do via USB. Selling an Oppo UDP-203 UHD player for parts. It boots to home screen has video output but disc drive does not respond or is functional at all. I know the disc drive works so IMO and I am not a professional technician there is a motherboard issue with this unit. It will need to be sent into Oppo for repair service if you want to restore disc playback function. Everything else works as it should, connects to network, usb playback works so it can be used like a normal Oppo 203 if you want to use it for that. This is 100% for parts though since it does not functional like it should. needs repair. it has scratch marks, scuffing on case and is not in the best cosmetic condition but front of unit looks very good.
