Generell kann man aber sagen, dass alle Geräte in diesem Alter einer professionellen Aufarbeitung durch einen erfahrenen Techniker bedürfen. Alle beweglichen Gummiteile (z. B. Antriebsriemen, Andruckrollen) sollten erneuert werden. Die Laufwerke müssen gereinigt und gewartet werden. Alle kritischen elektrischen Bauteile sollten ebenfalls geprüft und ggfls. erneuert werden. Auch sollte das Gerät nach Herstellervorgabe neu eingemessen werden. Schon aus den vorgenannten Gründen ist dies nichts für Laien oder Hobby-Bastler.
