Klanglich nahezu unschlagbar: Topreferenz. Modularer Aufbau Neben den ganz exzellenten klanglichen Eigenschaften ist die größte Besonderheit des HP 700 seine Flexibilität durch den modularen Aufbau. Die Vorstufe kommt in der Basisversion mit drei Cinch- und zwei symmetrischen XLR-Eingängen. Ausgangsseitig stehen zwei Cinch- und 2 XLR-Ausgänge zur Verfügung.  Eine vollwertige Monitorschleife erlaubt den Betrieb von Bandgeräten mit Hinterbandkontrolle oder lässt sich für Heimkino-Anwendungen nutzen. Klanglich ganz hervorragende Phonolösungen. Eingangsmodul mit symmetrischem Eingangsübertrager Speziell für Digitalgeräte wie Netzwerkplayer empfiehlt Octave Audio ein Line-Eingangsmodul mit symmetrischem Eingangsübertrager in Cinch oder XLR. Somit besteht kein galvanischer Kontakt mehr zwischen den Geräten. Potentialunterschiede und Störungen über die Erdverbindung werden so wirkungsvoll verhindert. Zusätzlich wird über die natürliche Filterwirkung des Übertragers jeglicher digitaler hochfrequenter Schmutz vom Eingang der HP 700 ferngehalten. Ausgelagertes Netzteil Das Netzteil ist aus dem Gerät in ein separates, abgeschirmtes Gehäuse ausgelagert. Beim Einschalten werden die Spannungen langsam und kontrolliert hochgefahren.
