Nakamichi 582Z, 3 x Discrete Heads, Cassette Player For Sale is this high end Nakamichi 582Z Cassette Player in very good condition with only one or two very minor rubs and scuffs from use. It has been in storage but has been checked and given a basic clean around the heads, pinch rollers and existing belts. All modes (Play, Pause, Stop, Record, Dolby Filters, Tones etc.) appear to be working. It is however suggested that a professional service probably is due. Please see all photographs for condition. The head block can be moved up manually when Play is pressed, but immediately goes to Stop. Meters work with incoming signal. Cosmetics are VG+, with some minor marks on the top plate (see pictures), but no scratches through the paint. Here is a Nakamichi CR-5 Discrete 3 Head Cassette Deck with Direct Drive Motor. Unlike the CR-5A American model this can run off either 120 volts or 240 volts for international use by moving a switch on the back. It sounds great after being fully serviced last year. The Direct Drive motor has very low wow and flutter. It has the same mechanism as the CR-7 and sounds just as good as the later models. Here are the parts that were replaced: Capstan Belt, Tension Belt, Pinch Rollers, Cam mode switches, Lubricated the Capstan Motor, and Cleaned the Heads and tape selector, so it should be ready for many more years of reliable operation. The heads had the azimuth aligned with a Calibration Tape. Fully tested on recording and playback.

Head unit does power on but does not spin cassettes. Maybe needs a belt. Not working. Lights power on and some buttons light up but the play button and down fader don’t light up. Bias tune knob also is not attached properly. Again for parts/not working properly. As is. Happy bidding
