Here is a Naim NAP 90/3 power amplifier. It comes with its attached power lead and original packaging. It does not come with any interconnects. You will need a 4-pin DIN interconnect to connect to your pre amplifier. Condition report: This amplifier is in very good condition, but its not quite immaculate. There are a couple of marks which we have highlighted in the pictures. In use: We have powered and tested this amplifier and it is working well. Summary: A good entry point into Naim ownership. The small print...The photographs show the actual item being sold. I use a studio to show the items in as much detail as possible. I must stress, that I have not serviced this item, just described its current cosmetic and operational condition as honestly as I can. PACKAGINGI only use brand new double wall boxes and all internal packaging is via ethafoam... this is the perfect foam to keep items well located and far superior to bubble wrap. Originally launched way back in 1987 in the half width case with the chrome bumper finish, this was changed in 1989 to the “Olive” finish then later into the full width slimline case we have here. Today, this is still a very highly regarded amplifier, and seen as the first step onto Naim hierarchy ladder. Ours is in very good condition, with just a minor blemish please see photographs, and comes in original Naim packaging, with SNAIC cable plus our standard three month warranty. Naim Say…. The NAP 90 compliments Naim’s other slimline components with a performance that belies its size. rated at 30 watts into 8 ohms and up to 150VA transient power, the low noise and stability of the NAP 90 is made possible by a large toroidal transformer and careful earthing and circuit design. Despite its apparently conservative power output there are few loudspeakers that this amplifier will not drive with authority and control. The purpose of an audio amplifier is to drive loudspeakers without loss of musical information. In our view many commonly accepted parameters have little to do with loss of information and in some instances, such as the pursuit of large bandwidths or low distortion, unqualified acceptance of them can actually lead to the creation of mechanisms that bring such losses about. Dynamic output impedance, open loop bandwidth, slew rate, propagation delay and stability margins are only some of the many factors to which we attach Importance, and which must all be brought into positive balance. With this balance in view, our amplifiers not only achieve low harmonic distortion, low noise, and wide power bandwidth, but also have a constant dynamic output impedance over the whole audio bandwidth. They are able to drive reactive loads without any appreciable change in distortion and are not sensitive to the absolute impedance of the load. The amplifiers will tolerate any load from O ohms to infinity without damage or instability, the output stages being protected by circuitry that measures the power dissipated.
