My own personal Meridian 500 CD Transport which started skipping early last year. I purchased a cheap Chinese VAM1205 laser and installed it. It worked for a week and then started skipping again. Then I gave up and moved on to another player. Now I cant get it to read most CDs. Its a shame because its a wonderful sounding transport and is in beautiful cosmetic condition. There is some damage to a plastic frame around the front panel internally. Its minor and completely invisible when assembled (some chipped and cracked plastic which I glued securely). Since not having used it for a year, the tray was a bit hesitant to open at first but seemed fine after a bit of exercise. However, it may need lubrication or perhaps the microswitch needs cleaning. Also, the rubber feet are sticky. Questions are welcome! I do have a system remote listed separately. Thanks! If you use Buy It Now I will include a new uninstalled VAM1205 mechanism that I ordered from Germany. I hope its of better quality but dont know for certain!
