The ability to accept an optional AM/FM/HD tuner module, the TM2, enables the MA6600 to become the first stereo receiver offered by McIntosh in over 15 years. The preamplifier stage supports 1 balanced and 7 unbalanced inputs and the input names are user configurable. The Variable Rate Volume (VRV) control with Post Attenuator, a McIntosh innovation, provides exceptionally accurate tracking and very low noise operation. Bass, treble and balance functions are all digitally controlled and adjustable via the MA6600 front panel or IR remote and bass and treble settings are automatically memorized independently for each input selection. All signal routing is accomplished with highly reliable, sealed electromagnetic switches. A ¼” front panel jack accesses a dedicated, low impedance headphone amplifier for use with dynamic headphones. Two switched, unbalanced line outputs are available for multi-zone use. This topology exhibits extremely low noise and distortion along with high current capability and is designed to drive a wide range of loudspeakers to sound their very best. The output Autoformer enables the MA6600 to respond with full rated power and low distortion regardless of the load connected and delivers 200 watts per channel into 8, 4 or 2 ohms.

In good physical condition with a couple of small blemishes as show. The right channel has a slight distortion at low volumes. As volume is increased, the distortion does not. Virtually undetectable at high volumes. This amplifier is offered as is. The remote is not included, but the replacement is available online for $80. The buyer will accept the responsibility of servicing the unit, and this sale will be final. The MA 6600 will be shipped in the original factory double carton.
