FAULTY, BUT STILL PLAYS MUSIC! Collection ideally please, from Christchurch UK. UK delivery available. Marantz SR5400 Home Cinema Amplifier/Receiver Kinda works, but not fully... However, what it still does well, it does beautifully. So, this Home Cinema Receiver was bought because it offered an incredibly musicality for music and excellent movie playback. Its been in storage, and one of the circuits has decided to retire on ill health. This has stopped any surround sound working However, if you select Source Direct the amp defaults to its prestigious mode of re-playing the music (Radio/CD etc) in its original recorded form and it sounds lovely. You end up with a great sounding straight stereo amplifier. The volume dial is faulty, but the included remote works perfectly. So, if you want a cheap straight stereo amplifier, for less than 50, that sounds rich, spacious and articulate then this is for you. You may even be possible to get it working again as a surround sound Home Cinema Receiver too but this is beyond my skill level... If you do, enjoy it, or sell it on and make a profit right?? Smoke free home, collection only, no time wasters (I see this in most descriptions so concluded I must do the same!) P.S. Its never been used as a drinks coaster! Welcome to my listing for beautiful Marantz CD5000 CD Player. This is a rare sleeper from the venerable stable of Marantz, incorporating the very rare and highly revered Philips TDA1549T DAC. You dont have to search far to find glowing reviews of this superb unit, with many people ranking of up there with the very best of CD players! It delivers music with surprising smoothness, authority and detail. This is a very clean and detailed sounding CD player and can easily be partnered with higher end components. It really does sound excellent. The transport is the very high quality and resonance free Philips CDM12.1 unit. The headphone output is also of a very high quality, if that is important to you. As you can see from the pictures, this player is in very good condition throughout. There is a small blemish on the screen which Ive pictured and a few small marks on the top panel but overall it looks excellent. It reads and navigates discs with speed and precision and every button and function works perfectly and as it should. Unfortunately there is no remote included.
