This is my personal favorite preamplifier and was the centerpiece of my listening room system, performing along with a KPA phono preamplifier which was recently sold, and a KSA-100S which Im keeping for now in another system. These were my holy grail components which took a long time and lots of experimenting to finally decide upon and much more to find and purchase. But life took a turn and Ive had to dismantle my listening room to make a bedroom for family and have some medical issues to deal with which require that I liquidate my most valuable electronics. This was Krells very best preamplifier from their golden age and they rarely appear on the market. There is a great deal of information online about them, including resources for restoration and repair should that every be necessary. This is in contrast to their newer components which are sometimes unrepairable because they use so many obsolete proprietary components. This one is in good cosmetic condition. It works perfectly and sounds wonderful. It only has line level inputs. A KPE phono board was an option, and they are readily available, but it appears to me installation would require up to a few hours of work by a competent technician. It operates in fully balanced Class-A throughout and runs warm not hot. Its best that there is space above for ventilation. It has both RCA and XLR inputs and outputs. I have revised the listing description and condition description, so if youve been watching this, please re-read both. I may have been wrong about the service history, I dont know. It may have been re-capped like so many Krells. If it was, I dont know who did the work, how skilled they were, or the quality or brand of the capacitors, I only know that everything works and that it sounds much like my other Krell preamp, a KSL.
