For sale a vintage Victor / JVC model QL-7 direct drive Quartz Lock turntable in good working order. Turntable keeps speed well, no issues and comes with working Victor cartridge. DESCRIPTION: A record player equipped with a turntable TT-71. Quartz Lock DD Turntable TT-71 sold as a stand-alone product is mounted on the turntable part. The drive motor is equipped with an FG servo system of full circumference integral detection type with torque of 1 kg ? cm or more. This speed detection mechanism consists of a ring magnet, a magnetic disk with 180 slots (FG yoke), and 180 power generation print coils (FG substrate). Together with the motor, when the magnetic disk makes one revolution, 180 pulses are generated for each of 180 coils. Therefore, the total detection output appears in the form of integrating the outputs of the whole circumference of 180 coils. There are few detection errors, and the absurdity of generating the cause of wow and flutter by the servo system itself can be almost eliminated. In addition, a turntable with a total weight of 2.2 kg including rubber covering has been adopted, and a quartz lock has been added to improve overall rotational accuracy. The quartz lock circuit compares the phase of the reference signal based on the accurate oscillation frequency of the crystal with that of the signal sent from the speed detector of the motor. When there is a difference, the driving voltage of the motor is automatically changed. The QL-7 uses a sample-and-hold circuit for this part to improve the accuracy and speed of the servo response. A touch sensor system is used for the rotation number changeover switch and stop switch. In addition, a brake mechanism using an electromagnetic solenoid is linked to the stop switch so that it can stop smoothly within 1.6 seconds. Tonearm lift at end of record works fine. The QL-A75 is equipped with a high-rigidity low mass tapered straight pipe arm which has been carefully treated for vibration isolation. The rotary bearing adopts Victors unique new gimbal support system with high sensitivity and stability. A dynamic Q-dump mechanism is built into the counterweight to suppress the resonance of the arm which causes harmful intermodulation distortion and colorization. In addition, in order to suppress cross-modulation distortion caused by the difference in vibration mode between the turntable base and the tone arm base, we have adopted a docking plate that rigidly connects both of them at the shortest distance. DESCRIPTION: The turntable has a diameter of 35 cm, a weight of 2.9 kg (including mat) and an inertial mass of 560kg-cm.2 In addition, a newly developed Quartz Lock DD motor with magnetic support system is used to drive the large aluminum die-cast turntable. In the magnetic support system, the load on the motors rotating shaft is reduced to about 500g by the attraction force of the magnet.
