The pictured similar Victor X-1 cartridge was sold. Description (from website): The MM cartridge was developed by applying the results obtained with CD-4 and various technologies. Not only are various characteristics improved by making full use of excellent materials, but also by reexamining the measuring method itself, analysis is advanced to the part which has been removed until now, and the completeness is improved. The Shibatar needle developed by Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. is used for the needle tip. The X-1 uses a 0.15 mm square micro diamond tip, and the equivalent mass of the vibrator is extremely small, enabling high-frequency reproduction at 60 kHz. The cantilever uses a lightweight and rigid bell-rim to reduce vibration transmission loss and maintain rigidity up to ultra-high frequencies. It uses a one point suspension system, supporting the vibrator with an ultra-thin wire and fixing it with a center hold bushing, making the vibration supporting point clear and suppressing intermodulation distortion. As the magnet, we have adopted a Sum Cobalt magnet with a small specific gravity and a large energy product, so we can obtain stable output while reducing the weight of the vibrator. A laminated core consisting of thin permalloy material is used for the core of the power generation unit. In addition, loss is reduced by improving the magnetic circuit such as shortening the opening.
