SANYO FMT 205L FM/MW/LW Stereo Tuner - HiFi Separate. Serial number: 32102073 I have tested the tuner and it is working fine. Has been used so shows signs of use, has a dent on the front left corner. I had Nait2 this is a more balanced and powerful sound . Demo offered connected to a IMF Reference monitor speakers. This is not serviced or repaired during my ownership Fully working and didn’t feel like servicing I don’t know about the previous owner if he had it serviced or not. Collection possible Can post comes with power cord and the cord to connect pre to power supply. No antenna offered. MC PHONO stage Preout and headphone amplifier present Great classic item and very hard to find. .

Ive had this tuner for a long time. It came to me with its marks on the casing but Ive done my best to look after it whilst its been in my posession. I dont think Ive seen another one since. I first heard this tuner about 20 years ago and was absolutely blown away by its performance. I was amazed when I found one for sale a few months later - I had to have it. The FMT 2 does have a problem where it doesnt produce any output till after its warmed up - usually about 2 or 3 mins after being switched on. I contacted Nytech who still service Ion Systems and Nytech equipment and they said they could repair it. I havent got around to sending it to them. They also advised that issue is definitely going to be with the FMT and not the X-PAK. This hasnt bothered me that much in the past because Ive just powered it up and given it a couple of minutes to warm up. Its always been the same for years and well worth the wait, however it would be nice to have the remedial work done as its a very special piece of British Hi-fi. Apparently this tuner was known as the Naim Beater - I can see why. Local collection welcome from SS1 or I can post.
