I have used a conventional high quality HDMI cable 8m long without a problem, but I have since swapped to fibre optic HDMI cable and for lengths over 5m I would recommend this technology. The 1000 ANSI lumen count is not a problem in real life situations. As detailed above the Laser Light Engine means the eye sees the image much brighter than a panel or white light and DLP colour wheel technology. I have really enjoyed this projector. The only reason for selling is the inevitable move to 4k UHD. However as a FULL HD projector with refresh rates of up to 120Hz for gaming and 3D it is impressive.
