NICE VINTAGE GARRARD LAB 80 AUTO/MANUAL TRANSCRIPTION TURNTABLE. Made in England. The Garrard Lab 80 was the very first automatic Transcription Turntable. This is the MkII which was an improved version of the Mk1. Can be used manually or has the capability to play up to 8 records using the supplied spindle.2 Speed Deck which will allow 3 sizes of record..Has unique easy-change Cartridge head. fitted with Magnetic Cartridge plus serviceable Stylus (unsure of Cartridge make).Has been tested and all seems to work. We have also lubricated necessary moving parts including motor.Not Pristine condition but certainly in a Good Used Condition. Minor marks and no rust. Included is a copy of an original user manual, a Garrard box (not the original) plus the auto-change spindle and the adapter for large cut hole singles. Heavy Item. This is an important part of the Main Turntable bearing This part is used in most Garrard turntables from 1950- 1960, Lab 80 & Mk II Type A A70 RC 88 98 121 210 This is the washer that sits loosely on the main platter shaft. It is the upper race of the main thrust bearing. Often it gets lost, when the bearing is disassembled. Without this washer, the turntable will not ride on the bearing balls but slide metal on metal. The actual washer is shown in pictures 2 and 3. For illustration I am showing the main shaft and the bearing assembly. Otherwise, the part is TOTALLY COMPATIBLE MUTING SWITCH and orig phono RCA Lead Cable . Complete assembly incl all wires and C clip for attachment to mechanism. It is the part that transmits the weight of the turntable to the chassis. It is the lower race of the main thrust bearing. The rubber rings prevents turntable rumble to be transmitted to the main chassis and the tonearm.
