Garrard 401 / SME 12inch arm cut custom plinth. I am reluctantly selling this braced retro custom homemade hardwood plinth with hinged lid as it is now no longer required .The Garrard 401 motor mounting board is 2cm thick so very sturdy . I had intended to reinforce and isolate and brace it more and make it even more solid than it is but it is now an aborted project for me as i no longer have the time . However it is very good as it is and ready to use . As you can see from the photos it is finished in a retro formica type veneer rosewood finish . The lid is made from black perspex and wood and is hinged . There is a slight repaired crack to the bottom corner right hand of the lid . ( see photos ) I recommend you open and close the perspex lid with the wooden side cheeks . The perspex lid has some light scratches visible due to age when viewed under strong light but i think they could be buffed out with care . There is also a very slight lift to the veneer on one of the rear corners but it is barely visible . ( see photos ) So grab bargain and get that vintage GARRARD 401 turntable and SME 12 inch arm back in use . The dimensions with the lid closed are : 60.5 cms Wide x 48cms Deep x 23.5cms High. The weight including the hinged lid is 10kgs. The plinth will be well packed and protected for delivery .
