FOCAL ES 165KX2 K2 POWER ELITE 6.5” & 3” KX3 Component Speakers. No Tweeters. Included in set are the (2) 6.5” woofers, (2) 3” mids, and (2) 2-way crossovers. This set has no tweeters. From Crutchfield: Woofer K2 Cone: The woofer cone is a sandwich composite consisting of a foam core, a structural glass fiber bottom layer, and a Kevlar top layer. This combination of materials results in a rigid, light weight cone with excellent damping characteristics. Surround: Focal's patented butyl rubber TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) surround helps control unwanted resonances, providing a clean and neutral midrange with very low harmonic distortion. Phase Plug: The bullet-shaped phase plug in the center of the woofer ensures a smooth, flat off-axis frequency response by preventing the high frequency sound waves emanating from one side of the cone from interfering with sound waves from the other side of the cone. Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1-9/16 diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation. Size Classification Note: Some manufacturers, including Focal, call this size woofer a 6-1/2. A switch on each crossover allows you to choose between 18 dB/octave and 12 dB/octave slopes for the high-pass crossover. Another switch allows you to choose between 12 dB/octave and 6 dB/octave slopes for the low-pass crossover. The crossover point for both is 3,000 Hz. Tweeter Level: A three position switch on the crossover allows you to adjust the output level of the tweeter to -3 dB, 0 dB, or +3 dB. Tweeter Shelf: Another switch on the crossover turns on/off a high-frequency boost, designed to improve definition.
