I have had these sitting around for a while They werent stored improperly but they were stored out in the open for a while and are dusty. I got these from a stereo buff who had them installed in some home made speakers. That is why there is so much silicone on them, It does not hurt them in any way. This was thought to help the the speakers from vibrating in some super sonic spectrum that even a dog cant hear. Tested and work great. They have 4 poles to hook up to but you only use the two. Not sure why there are 4 hookups. The ones to use are labeled Please ask me any questions
