Vintage Celestion CX1512 12 Full Range Dual Concentric 1960s British Speaker. Very rare these days which makes it very difficult to value. Tested and in working order. The Cone code seems to be 868 006 or possibly 868 806 There are some small(ish) marks as can be seen in pics between the 12 “o”clock and 2 “o”clock positions near the outer cone edge. It looks like something has bumped the cone from the other side. Speaker date code stamp looks like 10JA which doesn’t make sense as that would date it to Oct 1956 and I don’t think the speakers were introduced until 1962. Celestion CX 1512 Hi-Fi speaker Studio Series 1960s Thames Ditton. Rare collectors item. Made in England by Celestion Ltd, Thames Ditton, Surrey - before the factory moved to Ipswich. This speaker is in good used condition - please see pictures - Believed to have been made in the early 1960s. From what I can gather on the web these are Ultra rare Coaxial Celestion units with inbuilt Celestion tweeter (predecessor to HF1300?) mounted centrally and crossed over at 4khz. The 12” unit has a treated paper surround. It is very efficient so great for valve amps.
