The sound quality is really excellent, completely debunking the myth that tape sounds muddy, muffled or soft. This deck really brings out the details and dynamics of good recordings in a way that many other decks simply dont. With the 3 heads onboard, you can monitor your recordings as you make them, finely adjusting the bias or Dolby settings to taste as you go. This deck is a joy to use and sounds fabulous on both playback and recording. The whole tape path has been cleaned and I have calibrated the heads, so this unit is ready for use immediately and is working at optimum performance straight out of the box.
