In the case of an item that doesnt function as intended, there is a chance that other flaws, that we are not aware of, may be present. Please take that into consideration when purchasing. Does not include the manual or any original packaging. Will include an OEM remote and a power supply. Unit shows some minor wear and scratches, but overall is in good cosmetic condition. The face is clean with a couple scuff marks, all buttons and knobs are clean and work as intended and all of the illumination works. During testing, we were unable to get the HDMI to work. Other functions with RCA and Radio worked fine, along with all the speaker ports working as designed. Due to the HDMI issue, we are selling this unit AS-IS. Denon AVR-5805 home theater receiver. This was Denons top of the line home theater receiver at the time, costing well over $5,000 ! 170 watts a channel. Comes with remote shown, and power cord, but nothing else. No antennas, mics, etc. 200 page owner manual readily downloadable for free on Denons website. Listed as parts, not working, because SOME functions seem to be having an issue, and it is going to probably need servicing. The following are the KNOWN issues: 1. If using it as a 2 channel music listening rig, the sound options are to use Pure Direct, or theres another button right next to it that says Direct/Stereo. In Pure Direct, it plays fine, but in that mode you dont have the option of having tone controls (bass/treble). This is not a flaw, its just the way the factory designed it. If you use the other button (Direct / Stereo), you can toggle between those two options. In Direct, it works, but again - no tone controls (as per factory settings), but when you toggle it over to Stereo, which is the option that DOES give you tone controls, all I get is hissing out of the speakers. Something appears to be wrong with this listening mode. I spent some time in an online chat with a Denon service rep, and he couldnt figure it out... Further, in two channel listening, I couldnt get any sound out of my subwoofer. That could be something as simple as my sub cable being bad, me not understanding how to configure the Denon, or maybe another flaw? Or whatever... I dont know... 2. Gentleman I bought it from said the on screen display wasnt working properly, so you cant configure the unit by hooking it up to your TV and accessing the menus. He configured it by typing its IP address into a laptop and was able to access the menus that way. 3. No further testing has been done, and I make NO REPRESENTATIONS as to whether anything else functions or doesnt function, so you are buying this AS-IS. For all I know, it might work fine as a multi-channel home theater receiver, but thats not what * I * bought it for, and the issue with the stereo mode is enough for me to pass it along to another person who will give it the attention it needs... Dont bid if this is going to be an issue for you! Again, buy this as I listed it... as a not-working (fully) unit. Shipping is astonishingly expensive because it weighs 97 lbs plus packing materials. Im going to put $180 for shipping to the lower 48 states, and if it ends up being less than that, I WILL REFUND THE DIFFERENCE to you via Paypal. No international shipping whatsoever!
