Denafrips ARES II-R2R DAC from Vinshine Audio With Box Like New Updated Firmware. Used Used in like new condition. I purchased from an audiophile that never opened the box. He purchased directly from Vinshine. It was brand new when I purchased it about 4-6 weeks ago. I was told that updating the firmware would be worthwhile. I contacted Vinshine to get instructions to update the firmware, I was able to update the firmware to the latest version. It was worth the time to do so. It sounded even better after the update. Updates can be rolled back as well. FYI. This Dac sounds great, so much so I want to move up to the next level to see what is possible. It has an analog sound is how I would describe it. I have always played records, this has opened up my Cd collection into the listening rotation. There should be a factory warranty, it has never been registered. Sold as described. Unit is in excellent condition and comes with a power cable. I am the original owner and the unit was purchased directly from the maker, Vinshine Audio, in September 2019 (inspired by the strong review by Steve Guttenberg https://www.denafrips.com/single-post/2019/07/04/Steve-Guttenberg-Audiophiliac). The DAC has worked perfectly for me with gnu/linux which means its a USB class-compliant device and will work with any computer. Im hoping this goes to a great home!

The external casing is matte black and utilitarian, plus there are no creature comforts like volume control, menu, or an LCD screen to show status. Up for sale is a used Denafrips Ares ii dac i purchased from ebay about two months back. The unit came to me with a small imperfections one on the front panel and one stripped screw that i will place electrical tape over so it is easily identifiable. because of these imperfections im rating this dac a C+ cosmetically but an (A) for functionality and sound quality. I am the second owner, where this was used in an audiophile setup free from children, pets, smoke, or other electronic dangers…it was lovingly enjoyed and cared for over the past 1.5 years.
