In the meantime, I finally managed to get my very old integrated amplifier Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista repaired (I had already been losing hope that it would be possible to repair...). This Nu-Vista integrated amp includes a very capable phono stage so, in the interest of reducing the number of cable connections under my table, I decided to connect my turntable directly to the Nu-Vista. For this reason, I am selling the Clearaudio, which is otherwise a very capable and wonderful-sounding component. You will receive what is in the picture, i.e. the phono stage with the power transformer and EU plug adapter. Here is a high-end Clearaudio Virtuoso moving-magnet phono cartridge with a snapped-off cantilever. This can be rebuilt or applied in a trade toward the even better Virtuoso V2 cartridge ($1200) which is probably the best performing moving-magnet cartridge Ive heard (the high-dollar Soundsmith and Grado cartridges are in fact moving-iron, not moving magnet). I believe the trade-in value of this item is 20% or $240 from Clearaudio. Retippers typically charge around $300 to rebuild a cartridge like this.
