Outstanding and now a classic here for your consideration is the very rarely seen CLEARAUDIO REFERENCE turntable for sale. Superb turntable made in Germany. From its foundation in 1978 with a focus on speaker, arm and cartridge design, it wasn’t until 1993 that Clearaudio’s first production turntable, the ‘Reference’, was launched . It was designed by company founder Peter Suchy, who introduced the concept of a V-shaped chassis to minimize resonances. Those first decks used clear acrylic for the plinth and a frosted acrylic for the platter, with mass strategically added through the use of heavy stainless-steel feet and an equally chunky arm-mounting pod. Today it is still a stellar performer. Sure you may have the newest of the lot for $30,000 called The Clearaudio Reference Jubilee but surely honest listeners are the differences truly that much to justify the price??? Sonically, minimal.. In fact I heard the table under controlled conditions and in many ways this original sounds more transparent than the new one. I feel this one is still king. Many listeners will definitely like this original better as in almost all the cases. You do not see these too often for sale and for good reason. Their owners just keep them for life. Look at the prices of Clearaudios available and you will see what I mean. Still one of the very finest Clearaudios (a Harry Pearson favorite of the Absolute Sound) and one of the best turntables ever made, this model does practically everything. It has a superb reliable motor with absolute speed accuracy, a massive 70mm acrylic platter, and the unique shape of a boomerang for avoiding all sorts of extraneous noises. This table will last the new owner a lifetime. Precision German engineering combined with the latest technology and timeless design signaled a new era in analog playback. I am regretting selling all my audio toys little by little. Going to be very sad to this one go but circumstances beyond my control dictate otherwise. I am original owner. The turntable is really gorgeous and very well kept. It was used with the Cleraudio Souther TQ-1 and the fabulous SAEC 308SX (both already sold) as well as with other fine tonearms including Denon Long tonearm, JVC Victor and Micro Seiki MA-505-S (as pictured).
