The C-2 preamplifier is one of the adjacent pre-amps that came after the C4000 and C-1. The majority of key features of the Carver C-1 pre-amp are retained on the C-2. The C-2 supports RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), equalization for turntables with either a moving coil or moving magnet phono cartridge with dubbing and monitoring betwixt the the 2 input/output loops (each is labeled on the Selector control. An additional external processor signal path loop is available for any additional pre-post signal processing before sending combined output signal to both MAIN 1 and MAIN 2. The CARVER C-2 preamplifier offers the audio enthusiast, audiophile, weekender, etc., on a relatively moderate budget the opportunity for hi-fidelity in a brushed aluminum/steel design. The Selector switch controls the various signal sources which you may have in your system: turntables with moving magnet and/or moving magnet phone cartridges, FM tuner and an auxiliary input thats perfect for the new generation of Compact Digital Disc players, multi-media soundtracks, streaming, etc. The selector switch also controls which signal is sent to your cassette, CD-R and/or reel-to-reel decks.
