One Pair of Refurbished Bang & Olufsen Beovox S50 Vintage Loudspeakers with floor stands. Working beautifully. These speakers date from the early 1980s and have been used mainly to listen to orchestral and jazz music. Both bass drivers are original and as was often the case with these they previously suffered from rotting of the rubber surrounds. I considered revoicing the speakers but decided that using non original driver units might have changed their character, so instead the original drivers have been refurbished. Both have had their foam surrounds replaced, this has left some excess adhesive visible on the cone but this doesnt affect the sound, which since the repair has been fully back to its original superbly musical open and relaxed tone. The cabinets are in great condition for their age (see pics) but sadly there is a small amount of corrosion on the base of one of the metal floor stands. This could easily be treated with wire wool and repainted. Because of the size and weight of these fabulous speakers it is simply NOT possible to post them under ANY circumstances so if you want to buy them you will have to collect IN PERSON from East Kilbride. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THESE IF YOU CANNOT COLLECT FROM SCOTLAND. Sorry but with a valuable vintage items like this it really is for collection only. I am NOT prepared to entrust then to any courier or third party. For my peace of mind I want to know that you have inspected them and collected them yourself so that there can be no silly hassles later. Sorry to stress that point, but I think we all know that occasionally there have been buyers on ebay who get carried away and bid before considering the logistics of the situation. I want you to be as happy with your purchase as I have been. These are only being sold now because someone kindly donated me a pair of Tannoy Sixes and sadly I dont have room for both pairs.
