Cambridge Audio Azur 840C Upsampling CD Player For sale as a parts unit, we have a Cambridge Audio Azur 840C Upsampling CD Player in the silver finish, with the original remote. While the Analog ouputs do NOT work, the transport, and the Digital Output both work as they should, and the display is clear and working properly. While we dont know the history of the unit as it came in a large collection that we purchased, it appears upon opening the unit that an upgrade was poorly done to the Analog output section. The parts used in the upgrade are from a company called Burson Audio, and many of the boards that were installed came loose. Four of the units had fallen off. All of the parts will be included in the sale. It is likely that the upgrade was done by a company named Perfect Sound Audio as their sticker is on the back of the unit. The unit is in good physical condition with some scuffs and blemishes, most notably on the top edge of the faceplated and a couple on the front. There are no deep scratches, or dents on the unit. The original remote is included and is in working condition. There is a dent on the right side of the remote, and it is highlighted in the pictures. Please see pictures for further information. We dont have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams. Vintage Cambridge Audio Model # Azur 840C-S CU Compact Disc (CD) Player 24 bit Upsampling silver in color comes with box but no remote control. My neighbor bought this back when it was new and said he paid $1,500 for it new. He gave it to me because it wasnt working so I took it in and got it looked at and all it needed was a belt so they replaced the belt I think I paid $65 to $75 to have it fixed. I had it all looked over and tested and everything checked out fine all functions are working. I dont really want to sell it because I like it but I need money more than I need this right now. It will upsample any digital input to 24 bit 384 KHz before converting it into analog. The result is really low noise, high quality digital to analog converter. Same benefit is applied to CD playback as well.
