Audio Research SP9 MKII Hybrid Stereo Tube Preamplifier *The SP9 was sent to Audio Research in April of 2023 for inspection and a general check-up before listing it on ebay (see picture with specific details of what they addressed and fixed). It was returned in May 2023 with a clean bill of health. I no longer use tube audio gear, and this fantastic sounding preamplifier needs a new home. I’ve owned it for 20 years and am the third owner. Audio Research tested the tubes in the SP9 and they are ok -- there are three different sets of tubes with life left on all of them, and I would recommend swapping them in/out to see what sound you prefer. They also recommended the gain control could be adjusted which I passed on due to it not making any changes to the sound quality.
