We are pleased to offer for sale this magnificent collectors item! Considered by most engineers, audiophiles and musicians alike to be the best and finest sounding Audio Research amplifier, we not only agree, but would add one of the best amplifiers ever made, Period ! This one is a true Gem and pretty close to pristine ! This beauty is from a one owner, no pet and no smoking household with very little use! The amp is just back from Avatar Engineering where it has been refurbished a $1200 service! The service included all:New audiophile electrolytic capacitors ( see photos) along with polypropylene bypass caps and ultra fast recovery rectification. Mylar driver capacitors were replaced with audio grade polypropelene film capacitors. Key resistors were replaced with NOS Allen Bradley, Kiwame, Takman , and ultra quite/ precision Vishay film and foil .01 % units!Zener diodes were upgraded with Mil-Spec replacements. the incandescent lamps were also replaced with LED lamps. The original owner had replaced the all the tubes with matched NOS Gold Aero ( German) tubes, before his passing. approximately 400 to 500 hrs of use on them.
