ART AUDIO VP1 PHONO AND LINE PREAMPLIFIER EXCELLENT CONDITION Highly regarded phono and line pre-amp built in the UK. A few years old but in excellent cosmetic and working order. Would make a very good low cost pre-amp including phono stage for Leak, QUAD and other power amplfiers. Like all good hi fi it is simple design using 2x ECC82s for the line stage and 2x ECC83s for the phono pre-amplfier coupled with very high quality audiophile parts and construction gave ART Audio a reputation for excellence. You can see the handbuilt quality in the photos. The build quality and use of common components means that it can be easily service and upgraded. The VP1 has a useful feature not normally found. It is capable of being passive even when the phono stage is being used giving you the choice of both systems in one unit. Thougherly checked and tested for: Phono stage quality Channel balance Frequency response Switches and inputs working properly Valves tested for emission on an AVO valve tester, and all found to good. The channel balance is perfect right up to the maximum output of 10V. Audio performance on an extended listening test showed no problems and sounded superb. Front panel shows virtuallly no wear or use, Rear panel the same. Some almost neglible age related marks around the cabinet, see photos. It is difficult to photograph black items, it looks better in the flesh. Cable with with 13A plug 3A fuse fitted. A stock room find! Probably been in the cupboard for over 10 years. No returns but offered with 6 months parts and labour warranty (return to base). May be auditioned/collected from LE2 by arrangement. Can be collected if prefered (Cash only please) or shipped by DHL within the UK. No box or manual (operation is self evident) if shipped by DHL it will be very well packed.
