The Acoustic Reproduction Company Ltd (ARC) is famous for their classic high end ARC 050 and ARC 101 speakers which were very very highly regarded and versatile in that they are able to be used in either a) passive crossover form with the plug in crossover, or b) active crossover form with a Nytech active crossover system, or similar quality amplification. For auction here are my pair of ARC 050 speakers with the passive rear plug-in crossovers. The crossovers are marked Left and Right respectively. These speakers can be converted to active by removing the plug-in crossover and acquiring an active crossover that would be located between the separate pre and power amplifiers that you will also need. They work wonderfully in passive form with a decent amplifier, but are improved sonically in active form (I had a Nytech/ARC active system once). Mypassive ARC 050 speakers fully deserve quality amplification. I seem to remember that the HF drivers were supposed to be the same as those used in the Linn Kan speakers, but I have no way of verifying that, so please research it for yourself and dont take my word for it.
