IMO it is one of the best sounding Aiwa as thehyperbolic shaped narrow gapHX HEAD sounds so much better clearer and crisper than my other Aiwas Amorphous head like hs-px1000 and hs-jx707, hs-jx810 and so on. They are also very good but this one is way better near to CD quality with reference Metal cassette and Dolby NR off. Others only come close with BBE on. But BBE is a kind of digital sound processing which manipulates the original music so it is no lossless for sure.
