This is a fantastic example of a very highly regarded deck from Aiwa - one of the most respected designers of cassette decks through the 90s and beyond. The specification is excellent, including:-Dolby B/C and HX Pro-Automatic track search-Peak hold level meter-Auto tape type select-AMTS (Anti Modulation Tape Stabilizer)-Headphone output on the front panel-Variable bias – allowing fine tuning for the perfect recording on a wide variety of cassette types This AD-F450K has been professionally serviced, including fitting a set of brand-new drive belts (there are two in this design - one for the capstan and pulleys and one for the tape counter). The electrical alignment has been checked, using a test cassette, oscilloscope, signal generator and external level meters. This process includes setting the recording levels, playback levels, meter calibration, bias and tape speed. The tape transport has been checked, cleaned and demagnetised. All rubber parts have been cleaned and treated with Rubber Renue, which restores them to their original specification and performance. Everything works as it should on both playback and record and the sound it produces is incredibly impressive, even on basic Type I cassettes. It has been inspected for electrical safety and put through a full PAT test, in line with current guidance. Cosmetically, this deck is in very nice condition. The peak-hold display is clear and looks fantastic, the front and back panels are in very good condition, with only minor signs of use. The case is also in great shape. Please take a look at the pictures. The tape heads, capstan and pinch roller are all in excellent condition and show no significant signs of wear. This is probably the best example of this model that we have seen and is a credit to its former owner. A printed copy of a scanned version of the original instruction manual is included.
