Meridian 561 A/V preamplifier/processor with remote in original packaging.  This processor produced incredible sound in its day and in addition to very good 5.1, the 561 can still produce stereo at 2023 high end standards. Audio Inputs: 8 stereo analog, 1 toslink optical digital, 5 RCA coaxial digital. Audio Outputs: 6 analog for main or sides, center, surround, and subwoofer; 8 channels digital output for main, sides, center, surround, and subwoofer; 2 analog tape, independent copy. Video Inputs: 4 composite, 4 S-video. Video Outputs: Main: composite and S-video (on-screen display available on both). Tape: composite and S-video, S-video to composite conversion.

This is old - I set my Meridian M561 using my (at the time, state of the art) desktop computer with Windows 95. The set up and Controller worked great for years. I finally sold the unit when I was moving and downsizing and failed to include the set-up disc with the sale. So, I am hoping someone out there will need a vintage set up disc for their Meridian. I printed the manual addendum out on paper - single-sided, but very handy.

Up for sale is a Meridian 561 digital controller unit. It can be shipped together with other items to save costs. I don’t know what those savings are prior to auction end but will apply it then. THis was a great processor - years ago. This one has a funny display but it responds correctly to the remote. It is programmed using software included on a USB drive. Middle Atlantic rack mount included as well as the remote, user manual, and installation manual.

Meridian Boothroyd Stuart 561The cosmetics are excellent as are apparent in the photos. The Meridian 561 was made in England, a high end audio component. It is extremely well built and made to last. Purchase price when introduced was $5,000. It has had light use, it was used as a second system. Included is the Meridian remote also in excellent condition and is fully functional ( a 9 Volt battery is in place ). A users manual and power cord is also provided. I also included a trigger cable for turning on power amp or other device. The original box and packing is included and will provide safe shipping to you.The Meridian 561 is a Digital Surround Controller which combines a completely digital surround-sound processor with a high-performance digital preamplifier. You will need a power amp to complete the system. I used the Meridian 561 with an Anthem A2 two channel power amp with Onix Reference 3 speakers. The result was an impressive sound combination. I only used the analog & digital audio portion of the this controller as a preamp. The on-screen display automatically locks to an NTSC, PAL, or SECAM signal, and requires an input signal to operate. You must use an analog TV to use the display feature. I used the display on the unit front panel to set up the inputs for digital and analog.
