Stunning Zenith B600 Trans-Oceanic Wave Magnet valve radio, UK PSU. A superb example of this classic valve model. The condition both cosmetic and electrical is superb. Some minor light scuffing to top left corner but not to break the finish. The radio has been valeted both inside and out by the seller who is experienced with sympathetic minimal restoration. The mains side is for US 110V and has not been modified for use in the UK and therefore that side of the circuitry must not be used. A professionally made HT/LT Battery Eliminator circuit board has been installed to make use of the battery side of the circuitry. See eBay UK item 284197974308. New mains cable with a vintage cloth cover is used. Note that the handle is intact but for Zeniths of this era the plastic can become brittle so should be picked up from below. Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radio Royal R7000 11 Band AM/FM/SW/LW/VHF/BC/M Bands Tested. We have sold quite a few transoceanic radios over the year and this is one of the cleanest ones we’ve come across. Powers up with both batteries and original AC cable, even has original ear piece as well. Volume is great and was able to find channels without issue on FM/AM. There was a lot of feedback/squelching on VHF/SW/M bands but was unable to find any stations. Found a couple of stations on LW. Pretty much a SW radio amateur so not sure how to get better results finding stations. The log book is in excellent condition with no markings or writing on the book. Apart from some markings, scuffs around the area of the compass there is very little else to point out on this unit. Very clean and a beautiful piece. The only issue we found is that the lights did not work and it needs a new bulb for the reading light as well. Unit weighs 14.30lbs without batteries.

Offered here is a replacement 1L6 tube for your Zenith Trans Oceanic built inside a miniature tube envelope! If youre interested in a solid state replacement that is more tube-like in appearance, here it is! Photo is of a typical unit. 1L6 tubes are getting hard to find, and they have a relatively short life. Just plug this solid-state replacement into the 1L6 socket! Re-alignment of your radio will not be necessary since the capacitances of this device are very close to those of a 1L6 tube. It uses the latest JFET and dual-gate MOSFET transistors and easily outperforms the 1L6 on the upper frequency bands with improved sensitivity and conversion gain. I have run one of these in my transoceanic for many hours with excellent results. This device should have a virtually unlimited life under normal operating conditions. A typical unit is shown in the photo. I have received lots of feedback now and the device has been a great success! Also available are solid-state replacements for the 50A1, 1R5, 1U4, 1U5, 1S5, 3V4, 0A2, and 0B2 tubes, as well as a 1LA6 tube to 1L6 adapter. The 1U4 replacements come in two types, one is intended for use as an RF amplifier (works for the IF also) which offers greater sensitivity than the 1U4 tube, and an IF amplifier 1U4 version that features a highly selective 10 kHz ceramic IF filter!
