Yamaha YST-SW012 Active Powered 8 Subwoofer 100 Watts Unit sounds great. There are some scratches/scuffs and an overspray of white paint on all sides of the cabinet (see pics). It does not affect performance. Measures approximately 11 1/4 x 11 1/2 x 12 1/2 and weighs 18 lbs 12 oz.

A servo translates mechanical energy (physical motion) into an electrical value. In this case, the speaker cone motion is monitored, and the servo adjusts the amplifier’s output accordingly, preventing excessive motion, or too little. The result is output that perfectly matches the input signal -no distortion or boominess. Just very tight, musical bass. Servo technology is a feature normally found on only very expensive subs like Velodyne. To get it in a sub-$100 subwoofer is incredible.
