This is the Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Cassette Deck (portable) TC800D. It has an auto CO2 selection capability and an all Auto Stop mechanism. Its serial number is 007599. An electronics specialist has looked it over and refurbished it. Heres what he did, in his own words: I have [installed] new belts, adjusted for output leveling and speed, [I have] cleaned it inside and out, and [have] made all lamps and and main functions work. The only thing the buyer will have to work on is the rewind, which slows and then stops. For the average user, if reverse is needed, the tape can be flipped. This recorder/player has the required workings to produce and/or play excellent cassettes. The only remaining repair left is to investigate the slow/stop reverse mode -- which can be side- stepped by flipping the cassette and using fast forward. For certain kinds of tape use (i.e. transcription), a transcriber-user can take the machine to a specialist for further work on this single function.
