This is my father-in-laws Yamaha CD reader/writer and audio hard disk recorder. He was a highly skilled engineer (in his day job) and a real audiophile. You can be sure this has be taken good care of. He bought it new, so one careful owner. This records audio to the hard disk, and writes CDs. It will handle CDR and CDRW discs. PLEASE NOTE - the CDs have to be audio CDs, ordinary data CDs wont write. Ive tested it with both types. Its not a fault, its by design. The hard disk is 80 GB, which is enough for about 120 hours of audio, according to the label on the front. I dont think it will take a larger hard drive, but the hard drive is removable. At the moment its got one of those micromark mini connectors on the end of the mains. But thats only any use if youve got the matching mains socket. I can put a normal 13 amp plug on the end, but Id prefer not too, as they rattle around in the box, potentially causing damage. Its in excellent condition. Ive tested playback of both CD and hard disk, recording onto CD and hard disk from the analogue inputs, and the Co-Axial SPDIF digital input and output. They all work, including word clock sync. Im afraid I have nothing to test the optical digital connections with, but I dont see why they wouldnt work. This is a really capable bit of kit. It would be especially useful for somebody in the audio/recording world who wants to use the digital connections to make digital copies for archiving purposes - everything would stay in the digital domain. Its a 230-240 volt model. This is big and heavy. Im happy to post it, but I would far prefer it if it is collected from me in Leeds.
