The RX-A870 is a 7.2 channel receiver that boasts anti-resonance technology, Bluetooth connectivity, and the ability to connect to your home network through Yamahas innovative MusicCast technology. The RX-A870 and all other products in this series have been based on the audio design concept of providing full-bodied and accurate sound when it comes to movie sound effects and music scores. Construction Expert harmonisation of traditional and advanced technologies allows every factor that affects the sound quality, be it from the materials and parts used in construction, to the layout, vibration damping and the fine tuning of the sound, to be handled expertly with the sole intention of achieving only the best possible audio quality. As a result, this AV receiver has the ability to reproduce the most subtle details of high definition sound, allowing the listener to enjoy a high-class sound studio experience at home. The interior of the Yamaha RX-A870 has been reinforced using cross members in an H-shape to provide an extremely rigid and stable frame, therefore reducing chassis vibration to almost nothing, even during high volume listening. This reinforcement will maintain the highest possible audio quality, and it is only one of the many design aspects that Yamaha have updated. The interior of the unit has also been precisely planned, circuit-routed and built to ensure that the left and right channels are physically and electrically isolated, minimising channel separation and greatly improving signal to noise ratio. The feet on the RX-A870 have been newly designed, boasting a high density structure that utilises two kinds of interior ribs - straight and curved - to enhance strength and damping performance. Installation stability has been enhanced thanks to these feet, and the chassis resonance is dispersed, effectively eliminating external vibration. The low range response has been enhanced, too, while resonance peaks in the mid and high-range have been reduced, providing dynamic sound and accurate reproduction. Audio Support Dolby Atmos support is included, as well as DTS-X and CINEMA DSP HD3, ensuring your movie experience will be unlike any other. New signal processing algorithms in the revamped CINEMA DSP HD3, along with three sets of high performance processors, will allow the RX-A870 to deliver maximised theatre sound effects, accurately reproducing your sound with an unbelievable sense of realism. Dolby Atmos Dolby Atmos technology is based on audio objects rather than – more conventionally – channels. In order to deliver the full object-based soundtrack to your home theatre, Dolby has developed new home authorising tools and new encoding methods that will allow all the audio objects created for use within a cinema to be used within the comfort of your own home. DTS:X The next generation in audio codec from DTS, DTS:X leverages object-based audio to enable immersive and interactive audio experiences.
