All parts work properly. This is a GT2000 that was disassembled and carefully re-set up at our shop. The standard cabinet is black, but after removing the original paint, this item has been repainted in a color that brings out the wood grain. The texture of the paint is an open pore mud finish (matte finish) that makes use of the conduit. In addition, we have carried out careful restoration maintenance, including mirror finishing of the dust cover. The turntable is manufactured using a hot forging method. A turntable with a diameter of 374 mm is used. The hot forging method involves heating refined aluminum to nearly 100% purity to 500 to 700 degrees Celsius. After compression molding with a special high-pressure press machine, it is further precisely finished by cutting. It is anodized to prevent scratches etc. In addition, the GT-2000 has a large diameter of 374mm, which increases the moment of inertia. If the weight is the same, the moment of inertia will be larger for the larger diameter. It has a huge moment of inertia of 1.2tcm2. In principle, cogging does not occur in the motor at a starting torque of 2 kg/cm. A DC coreless Hall motor is used to directly drive the platter. The cabinet is made of high-density particle board with a 5-layer laminated structure. One of the five layers is the bottom plate, which weighs 2.5 kg and is 25 mm thick. The weight of the cabinet alone is 14.5 kg. In order to isolate external vibrations, a spring/rubber composite insulator with excellent vibration absorption properties is used.
