Yamaha CD-S2000 Natural Sound Super Audio CD Player Black Color Beautiful Description A-S2000 (B) has a tight and sharp appearance with a matte black face, suitable for the increased number of black speakers in recent years. It has been in use until recently and is in good working condition. There are light scratches on the top panel, but there are no noticeable dirt or stains elsewhere. I personally own the silver-faced model of the same machine, which I also use to listen to music from my PC and LP. Compared to my Accuphase setup (plus a dedicated DAC board), I find that the YAMAHA A-S2000 has a natural and clean sound that is not overly polished. I have Sonus Faber, Tannoy, and DALI speakers (mid-range models), and I find that the YAMAHA A-S2000 suits my Japanese sensibilities focused on original sound reproduction. When paired with YAMAHAs CD-S2000, the sound is excellent, not only because it was a recommended combination at the time of release but also because I now use it as part of a network setup with DACs like iFI to achieve a more sophisticated sound quality. This might harken back to the characteristic sound of older high-end equipment. The A-S2000 belongs to a series that has been updated and become more expensive. However, considering its price of around 200,000 yen, which does not follow the current trend of inflated prices for high-end or mid-range devices, I personally feel that it still holds its ground in terms of quality compared to newer models. The sound quality this puts out is amazing. All inputs have been tested, no functional issues. Speaker A red output is loose. The plastic piece that holds it in was damaged in shipping. Everything still works. Please see pictures to see condition. There are a few scratches and scuffs. I am no expert on this unit, but I believe it needs a step up transformer to run on 120V since the unit is 100V. This unit weighs 57.6 pounds! One of a kind.
