I have fully refurbished this Yamaha CDX-496 to include a new high-quality tray loading belt and a new old stock KSS-213C laser. The mechanism has been completely disassembled, cleaned and oiled and greased as necessary. The result is a CD player that works perfectly and sounds fantastic. It also has an optical digital output so you can feed its signal to a DAC of your choice. There are standard RCA analogue outputs of course, and a headphone jack with a front-mounted volume control and onboard headphone amp that is extremely powerful. Features are quite nice too, with all the usual programming functions and direct track access. It has a digital servo system that dynamically adjusts the laser parameters in real time, so it has no problem playing scratched discs, as well as home-recorded CD-Rs. Its in really nice condition, there is a small dent in the bottom edge of the left side panel but its invisible unless you look for it and cant be seen with the player in situ. UK postage is included in the price. I offer global postage but only through the eBay global shipping program, the price of which is set by eBay and is beyond my control.
