Yamaha A-500 Integrated Amplifier, Vintage early 1980s Japan. I had this hooked up to a Harmon/Kardon CD player and a Pioneer CT-W604RS cassette player. It all worked well. Yamaha A-500 Integrated Amplifier, Vintage early 1980s. A nice multi-purpose integrated amplifier to drive phono, CD, dedicated tuner, AUX, DAD, and Tape. It's rated at 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms and has A and B speaker outputs which can be run concurrently if desired. The A-500 model has some nice extras, including a variable loudness control which lets you sync the degree of the loudness compensation circuit to the volume, a front-panel switch for handling both MM and MC phono cartridges, a subsonic filter circuit, mono mode and a mute button for taking phone calls and such during listening sessions. There is some cosmetic wear accumulated during this one's 40-year lifespan, primarily on the edges and corners of the sides. The pictures will show that clearly. Some of the knobs have minor finish wear right at the edges. The two feet are missing on the left side of unit. The cord is dirty and I tried to clean but after some effort it still needs some cleaning.
