If you are familiar with the Grado Signature line of cartridges, then you know that this XTZ was the top model in that line. I recently purchased a vintage turntable that this came on. The table looked like it had rarely been used, so I am confident in saying the stylus has low hours on it. I testing it and it is a fabulous cartridge. It even had the factory tonearm decoupler that was included with the Signature line. Its a little aluminum triangle with dimples that the manual was adamant that you used. That will be included with this cart purchase. Unfortunately, both of my current setups use moving coils carts with phono stages that are dialed in for them. So its quite a fuss to swap them out and reset all the phono stages for an occasional listen with this XTZ. So I decided to part with it. It will be packaged safely and securely and insured. Im a bit unsure of the current market value for these so this will be an auction. Good luck! UPDATE: I had someone message me that was concerned about the authenticity of this item so I wanted to do my best to address it. First, in the first picture the little painted dimples that typically denote the stylus type for Grado carts look like they may be silver. The dimples on this stylus are black, and any silver is shine from the smooth plastic. I added another picture making sure to orient the dimples in a way that you can see they are black. Also the numbers H86 were found on the body. Secondly, the kind officer from the Grado Police also suggested that because the dimples were assumed to be silver, that the XTZ writing was sloppily placed by a person who did not work at Grado. While I can understand how one assumption would drive the other, I am very confident as to the authenticity of the model of this cartridge. I purchased a Conrad Johnson Sonographe SG-3 from the estate of a deceased audiophile and this cartridge was mounted on it. This table/cart combo may have been his jumping off point as his collection contained high end audio items from the 80s and 90s and this was one of the cheapest items for sale. It was clearly a setup that had been placed in a closet and out of rotation as the other tables were far higher end. The collection was well exceeding $100K in todays value. The other carts were 5-10 times the cost and nearly every cable exceeded the cost by at least double. It would be safe to say that someone who was this heavily invested in high end audio would have purchased from reputable sources and that this XTZ is what it claims to be. That said, if you question the authenticity of this item, please dont bid.
