VINTAGE WOLLENSACK REEL TO REEL ¼ INCH TAPE RECORDER Up for bid is Wollensack ¼ inch reel to reel tape recorder from 1958. Model number T-1515. It has two 12AX7/7025 tubes, one 12AT7 tube, & two 12AB5 tubes. The AX7 tubes have been replaced with “tested strong” tubes. Tape speeds are 3.75 and 7.5 ips. I might accept it. CONDITION:The item is in very good physical condition. It does work, but it does not always work properly so it will need some adjustment or work. The issues observed were:-when playing it, the recorder plays what is on the tape but also another sound comes through the speaker. The sound is like some mechanical problem or sound that is picked up by the amp & then put to the speaker.-when playing a tape, the tape does not always move or it moves forward for about 30 seconds & then slows down or stops.-when on but no tape playing & the volume is at 7 or above, the unit emits a high pitch squeal as if feeding back.-the 12AT7 tube was also switched with a“tested good” tube & the unit still had these problems. A matched pair (originally tested and matched by Tube Maze) of vintage Mullard 12AX7s. These are labelled Revere Wollensak and I believe were oem tubes for a reel to reel machine. These are vintage made in Great Britain vacuum tubes from the original Mullard and will make fantastic preamp tubes for any guitar amp. PLEASE NOTE: These tubes were originally bought from Tube Maze and have not been used since I received them. One of the tubes makes a faint rattling sound, and I cannot guarantee it isnt microphonic, so the price for the pair reflects that. These are sold as-is!
