Gerade mal gute 30 cm hoch ist die 686 S2 und schon eine echte Bowers & Wilkins, wie man schon an der typisch gelben Kevlar-Membran des Tiefmitteltöners unschwer auf den ersten Blick erkennen kann. Im Gegensatz zum Vorgängermodell wurde die Bassreflexöffnung mit der charakteristischen Golfball-Oberfläche zur Verringerung von Luftverwirbelungen an die Boxenvorderseite verlegt, auch hat das Gehäuse einen eleganten Faclift erhalten und ist nun etwas schlanker und dafür höher ausgefallen. Der Vorteil: die „Neue“ sieht deutlich eleganter aus, ist flacher und kann sogar an die Wand gehängt werden – eine passende Wandhalterung ist bereits in das Lautsprechergehäuse integriert....
