Webster Chicago were one of the first companies in the mid 1920s to manufacture amplifiers for the new Talkie movies of the era. This amplifier is a prime example of one of their early cinema tube amplifiers. I have never seen another for sale. Im sure there are not too many of these left in the world today. The amplifier is powered by a pair of Type 247 power tubes, a type 80 Rectifier, a 227 and a 24A. Cosmetically the amplifier is in amazing condition for the age. It shows normal paint wear but It was kept in dry heated storage for over 50 years. It looks stunning! Mechanically the amp has not been tested. It will require a tech to install new caps and do a full service before it could be used. The amp is being sold for parts/repair for restoration. No returns. A microphone and an external speaker are not included. I know absolutely nothing about wire recorders and I didnt want to accidentally damage this item. Plus with this recorder being so old I didnt want to risk blowing any tubes or filter capacitors. In my opinion this wire recorder is in excellent condition cosmetically. The only minor issue I noticed was that the cord sheathing was split where it enters the machine. I didnt see any exposed bare wires. Tested and working and sounding cool. Someone added a 1/4 input and I suspect did a cap job at some point, because it has very little hum. Youll want to do a full once-over and replace the old power cord. Sold As-Is.

Questo ampli da 4 watt (in push-pull) con controlli di tono BASSI/ACUTI separati,proviene da un esagerata fonovaligia con 4 gambe cromate,venduta dichiarata funzionante al precedente Collezionista a notevole prezzo (in quanto prodotto di lusso) ma...senza dichiarare il motore bruciato e la testina piezoelettrica...morta !
