RARE 1989 SONY WM-503 CHARCOAL WALKMAN DBB JAPANESE IMPORTEXCELLENT LOOKING, FULLY WORKING & SOUNDING From my own collection: Excellent 1989 SONY WM-503 in Charcoal Grey ColourThis is the rare Japanese import with the DBB instead of MEGA BASS, as all the European models used instead. This very clean, near perfect example has had the following work done to it to ensure it works for the next 25+ years: The playback head has been diamond polished & demagnetized. Both capstans have been cleaned & demagnetized. Both rubber pinch rollers have been replaced with brand new. All gears & switch gear have been checked & lubricated. Large clutch gear has been replaced with brand new, old stock (See Final 3 Photos). All capacitors have been checked. Playback speed has been calibrated to around 3055Hz.The sound is very clear, very punchy & very dynamic. It looks great & it sounds great too. There are some minute age related marks here & there, but these are minimal for a 34 year old Walkman. I cannot see any of the Charcoal Coloured finish missing. See photos on how minor these marks are & how good looking this Walkman is.There is no battery acid damage inside the Gumstick battery bay. The cassette bay is very clean, almost new looking with minimal marks within. The sale of this SONY WM-503, with Serial Number 71818, includes Walkman itself, a working SONY NH-14WM(A) Gumstick battery & a Japanese 100 volt charger ONLY!
