For sale is my set of 4 HW-40 feet for use with a Classic Turntable. I bought them new in February 2023 and have used them until recently on my Classic 4. You simply unscrew your old Classic feet and replace them one at a time with an HW-40 foot. These feet provide much better isolation from the environment. I found that they cleaned up the bass on my Classic 4 and seemed to open the soundstage as well improving what I thought was already excellent performance from the Classic 4. The feet are in excellent condition but they do have a few superficial scratches on the metal base. I believe this came from shipping as they were not packed that well when I received them. The feet come disassembled with the metal/padded base, the screw-in inserts (I believe it’s ¼ - 20), and the black rubbery pads that surround the inserts. I am selling them because I have traded in my Classic 4 for an SME turntable and no longer need them. They have been used in a smoke-free, pet-free environment. A VPI Classic 1 in black oak, in very good/excellent condition. Well cared for. I bought this here in 2017 and sadly it has been sitting unused most of the time. I switched to digital shortly after I got this and sold my phone pre and cartridge thinking Id upgrade that soon. Alas, its 6 years later and Im still listening to digital. I know, its a travesty, but Ive dialed it in to sound pretty darn good. I think its safe to say this can go to the next person! I would trade this for a streamer of equal value. I list everything possible below. Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions. The Classic 1 is one of the turntables that put VPI on the map of the audiophile world. This particular Classic 1 is one of the more sought after versions for the following features: This version has a thicker and heavier plinth, with the top plinth border as measured at thickness. The motor assembly, situated in the front left corner, is smartly located at the farthest corner from the arm assembly, allowing it the greatest distance separation, hence the minimizing motor resonance getting to the tonearm. Another nice motor resonance isolation feature is a metal plate to further isolate the motor from the platter and the tonearm. (this plate is visible as the diagonal line hypotenuse - at front left corner). Tonearm is the Classic 1 arm. I like this version a lot as it has the armwand with 2-tone,multiple piece construction, finger lift, multi-colored Discovery wires, as well as the critical VTF fine adjustment screw on the backend of the armtube. The armtube also has the ship steering wheel nut for tonearm height adjustment. And included and is Peter Ledermanns (Soundsmith) Counter Intuitive Tracking and Azimuth adjustment kit for VPI ($50 value). The Counter Intuitive is an invaluable upgrade as it makes cartridge setup and fine adjustment on VPI turntables much easier. This is a very fine specimen but this is not brand new, so there will be unavoidable signs of usage. The aluminum platter has some fine scratches but generally only if viewed within a foot from it. There is a tiny ding on the top of the RCA junction box. There appears to be either one light scuff or it could be just part of the grain pattern, on the front edge of the plinth. The tonearm has signs of normal usage on the head shell and where the armlock is. I am picky. Otherwise, in excellent condition. Please see the many pictures for visual details.
